Apple launches Siri AI upgrade across major devices

    June 9, 2026

CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA / Content Syndication Services / – Apple introduced Siri AI on June 8, 2026, marking a major upgrade to its digital assistant through Apple Intelligence. The company said the new Siri can hold more natural conversations, answer web-based questions, understand personal context, and respond to content on a user’s screen. The announcement places Siri AI across Apple’s main software platforms and makes the assistant a central feature of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, and visionOS 27.

Siri AI can search across messages, emails, photos, and other content to help users find specific information. Apple gave examples that include locating a restaurant recommendation from a message, finding a hotel confirmation in email, or pulling up trip photos. The assistant can also use onscreen awareness to answer questions about visible content. Apple said third-party app support for personal context can extend through developer integration with Spotlight.

The upgraded assistant also adds wider system access across Apple devices. iPhone users can start Siri by voice, the side button, or a swipe from the Dynamic Island. On iPad and Mac, Siri AI works inside Spotlight and systemwide context menus. Apple Vision Pro users can place a 3D Siri interface in their space and start speaking by looking at it. Apple Watch users can start a conversation from the wrist.

    New Siri architecture

Apple said Siri AI runs on a new Apple Intelligence architecture that uses Apple Foundation Models on devices and through Private Cloud Compute. The company said personal data does not get stored when Private Cloud Compute handles a request. It also said outside experts can verify that privacy promise. Siri AI uses the Spotlight index and App Toolbox for some core tasks, with those functions working entirely on device.

The new Siri also brings a dedicated Siri app. Users can open the app to start a new conversation or return to past Siri conversations. Apple said iCloud will privately sync Siri history across supported products, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro. The upgrade also includes expanded Visual Intelligence and built-in writing tools. Supported products can also use more expressive Siri voices and improved systemwide dictation.

    Beta rollout and device support

Apple made Siri AI available for developer testing through the Apple Developer Program on June 8 across iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, and visionOS 27. The company said watchOS 27 developer testing will follow in a future beta. A user beta is scheduled for later this year for supported devices set to English. Apple said it will expand language support after the initial beta release.

Supported devices include iPhone 16 models or later, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad mini with A17 Pro, MacBook Neo with A18 Pro, iPad models with M1 or later, Mac models with M1 or later, Apple Vision Pro, Apple Watch Series 9 or later, Apple Watch Ultra 2 or later, and Apple Watch SE 3 when paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone. Apple said Siri AI will not launch initially on iOS and iPadOS in the European Union, and will not be available in China while regulatory requirements remain under review.
