Starbucks to open Nashville office and move Seattle jobs

NASHVILLE: Starbucks will open a corporate operations office in Davidson County, Tennessee, later in 2026, the company and state officials announced Tuesday. The new site is expected to expand the coffee chain’s corporate presence in North America and provide an additional base for teams supporting U.S. operations. Officials said the office will be in the Nashville area, which is the seat of Davidson County. Starbucks said the Tennessee office will work closely with its global headquarters in Seattle.

The company described the Tennessee location as a Southeast corporate office focused on operations work, including portions of its North American supply chain organization. Starbucks said Seattle will remain its global headquarters and its primary support center for North America. The Nashville office will coordinate with Seattle on planning and execution tied to store support, sourcing and logistics, according to statements released with the announcement. Tennessee officials said the project will add corporate-level roles in the state, with more details to be provided later.

Starbucks said it will offer positions to dozens of employees currently based in Seattle to relocate to the Nashville office. The company said the moves involve certain roles in its supply chain organization and are tied to the work that will be based in Tennessee. Employees who choose not to relocate will be eligible for severance, Starbucks said. The company also said those employees can pursue other roles as they become available through its internal hiring process.

    Davidson County office

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Deputy Gov. Stuart C. McWhorter and economic development officials took part in the announcement with Starbucks executives. In their statements, officials said the Nashville-area office will support Starbucks as it serves customers and operates coffeehouses across the Southeast. Starbucks Chief Operating Officer Mike Grams said the company expects the Tennessee site to contribute to operations that support continued coffeehouse growth and customer demand. The company did not provide an office address or a publicly stated staffing total at the time of the announcement.

Starbucks said the office is expected to open later this year and will be part of the company’s broader corporate support structure, which includes its Seattle headquarters. The company said the Davidson County location will work closely with Seattle once operational. State officials said additional details about Starbucks’ plans in Tennessee, including information on the office and jobs, will be released in the coming months. The announcement did not include terms of any state or local incentives for the project.

    Seattle roles and staffing

Starbucks said the relocation offers will be made to affected Seattle-based employees, and that the company will provide transition support through the move process. The company said employees who decline the relocation option will be eligible for severance and can apply for other openings. Starbucks did not specify how many positions will be newly created in Tennessee beyond the relocation offers. The company also did not identify which teams will be based in Nashville, beyond describing them as part of its North American supply chain operation.

Starbucks said the Tennessee office will not change the status of Seattle as its global headquarters, and it reiterated that its main North American support center will remain there. The company and state officials framed the Davidson County office as an additional corporate operations site intended to support day-to-day business needs. Starbucks said it will share further information on the Tennessee expansion as plans are finalized and the office moves toward opening later in 2026. – By  Content Syndication Services.
